Review: Askey's NEW Butterscotch Flavour Treat Sauce

I have recently been sent a bottle of Askey's NEW Butterscotch Flavour Treat Sauce to try out from baking mad

who have a fab website and facebook page where you can swap recipes show off your creations ask questions and share your advice.

When the parcel arrived my children immediately covered their ice cream in it and even enjoyed it with waffles and pancakes.  So before too much was used up I came up with a lovely recipe for Butterscotch Cupcakes

250g unsalted butter
250g self raising flour
250 g caster sugar
4 medium free range eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Butter cream
250 g Unsalted butter
500 g icing sugar

Add the butter and sugar to your mixing bowl and cream until light and fluffy, then add the eggs and the flour don't over mix just until blended together. Then add your vanilla extract and your Askeys New Butterscotch sauce.
This mixture will equally divide between 24 cases. Pop into the oven 180oc for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Take out of the tin so that the papers don't peel and pop onto a rack to cool

Whilst cooling make the buttercream....add the butter to the bowl (which should be nice and soft not straight out of the fridge) and then empty all the icing sugar on top.
I have a kitchen aid which makes light work of buttercream if doing this by hand you will need to add the icing sugar in gradually. Once well beaten and light and fluffy add Askeys sauce and mix in.

Once the cupcakes are cool place the icing sugar into a piping bag, for the swirl pictured use a wilton star nozzle and then i have added small fudge pieces...

This is a really delicious recipe, for those of you who may find it too sweet make the cupcakes vanilla. The recipe above will work lovely just don't add the Askeys sauce.

This recipe is so quick and easy and make a lovely treat for children its so easy even the children can join in

The vintage cake stand and all cute cupcake cases can be brought from my online facebook shop
